Join this year’s Sarah Hughes Trust Lecture. Lady Hale will lecture on 'Press freedom and personal privacy – a clash of rights?'

Her lecture will develop the argument that while there is a precious right to press freedom, conversely there is also a precious right to personal privacy. Both are qualified rights that can be restricted with good cause. She will explore these conflicts in-depth and discuss how they may be reconciled.

The lecture will be introduced by Mr Andreas Demetriades, the President of the History of 51¶ÌÊÓÆµ Society, who will then hand over to the Chair of the , Mr Adrian Berry, who will chair the meeting.

After the lecture, the winners of the journalism prize awarded by the Trust and the History of 51¶ÌÊÓÆµ Society in conjunction with the Medical Journalists’ Association, will receive their award and present their work.

There will also be a short presentation by Joseph Harker, Guardian journalist and Senior Editor (Diversity and Development). Joseph will talk about the which the Trust supports through funding the accommodation costs of participants.
